fifzine is changing its stripes...
You've probably noticed that we've not updated the magazine for a while. Sorry. It's not that we're lazy, we actually have a lot of articles and features ready to go up onto the site, it's just that we've been saving it.
Why? Because fifzine is changing. We've been in beta testing now for around 6 months and we've taken on board all your feedback in an effort to build a new site that delivers the functions you expect, and hopefully a few extra ones that you'll grow to love.
The changes are so far reaching we've even decided to change the name, after all fifzine was never the easiest to spell was it. You told us that.
So from the first week of September, welcome to jotta.com, a space from which you can connect, collaborate and create.
At jotta.com you'll find all the current features of fifzine majorly refreshed and updated - an easier Portfolio system built to make it simpler for you to upload and manage your work. Better networking and collaboration tools including a groups system, IM, email and much more. Advanced media viewers with tools built in to make it easier for you to share your favourite work.
The priority at jotta will always be to provide you with a clean, easy to use space from which you can manage your work along with tools that let you better collaborate with other artists.
For the jotta community we are looking to provide everything from legal advice to advice on how to maximise the potential of your portfolio, forums and soon, grants in key diciplines and live events.
For those who might also be interested in commercial opportunities, explore the new Marketplace to find the best commercial briefs. The Marketplace is being built to ensure a diverse range of briefs from companies and collectives big and small across all diciplines. Within the Marketplace you'll also find job openings while also being able to post or respond to opportunities for collaboration on projects.
Also on jotta.com will be new, more powerful search tools and the Lightbox, a way of temporarily 'favouriting' work.
There are many other new features coming to jotta but it would be wrong to end without mentioning the magazine.
The magazine will be updated with fresh content on an almost daily basis with blogs, forums and a wider variety of content from short films to editorial.

If you are a current fifzine user you don't need to do anything. All your work and log-in details will be ported across to the new site.
From the first week of September, jotta.com will replace fifzine and if you log into fifzine you will be re-routed.
